Whatta weekend

Seattle received a good downpouring of rain on Friday night - Saturday night and then a huge (very rare) August windstorm happened on Saturday.  

We woke up Saturday morning to the tarp pooling in numerous areas.  We finally got the water out (pushed most over and then had to drain the last one).  The guys from Carlisle came over sat morning to create a few more angles with the tarp to prevent pooling.  

Then Saturday the winds really kicked up (45 mile per hour gusts) and by early afternoon the tarp had a hole in pretty much every place the wood was sticking up to the tarp.  So a few guys came back around 5 pm and we're here until almost 10 to fix the tarp.  It started raining heavily again on Saturday night so very glad they came and fixed it.  

The stair treds were added Friday so we could walk up which is fun.  

The roof trusses should arrive Thursday so fingers crossed they can install them Thursday or Friday so at least the tarp will have something to lay on and then the next week they can do the rest of the roof.

Friday morning

More walls are up, stairs are created.  Rain started today so they will get a bit creative with working but they are continuing to plug along.  They will add temporary treds to the stairs today so we can walk up ourselves today.  Took some pics from the top of the ladder this morning.

Tuesday

The mid landing up to the 2nd floor was framed today and another window as well in the stairwell. Don't see any walls yet

Monday - insulation and subfloor

The insulation was installed and subfloor is down today so finally tomorrow they will start building up walls.  Unfortunately we just found out the roof trusse order was messed up somehow and that will be delayed by about a week so we will have some days with no work happening and our house will be open up to the elements for longer which sucks.  Not much we can do about it.  Here are pics for the day

End of week

They framed in two of the new windows for the stairs, finished floor joists including new landing for upstairs.  Insulation did not happen so guessing that is Monday.  Next week insulation, floor, and walls!

Friday morning

All the floor joists are in, insulation will be installed today, they are working on the stairs.  Monday walls will start.  I was able to climb up the ladder to take a few pics above the kitchen.

Found some cool new but old fashioned light switches.  One was installed today

An unplanned skylight in the ceiling of the kitchen

The electrician accidentally stepped through the kitchen ceiling today.  They will fix it in a few weeks when the do the drywall for the new space.

Plywood

They put plywood on the outside of the house.  That is all I can really tell that happened today.  Knob and tube wiring removal and re-wiring will be finished tomorrow.  

Monday - a few changes

I think they are a bit delayed with waiting to swap out the last of the old electrical. But a few things they finished including putting the post in as well as a new beam.  Also took out a bit more drywall and you can see the old electrical box at the back of the house.
